Palazzo Gallenga Stuart

Palazzo Gallenga Stuart è la sede dell'Università Italiana per Stranieri di Perugia, istituita nel 1929, con lo scopo di diffondere la cultura e la lingua italiana in tutto il mondo.  Nel corso degli anni ha accolto studenti provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Il palazzo venne fatto costruire tra il 1748 e il 1758  in stile barocco dalla nobile famiglia Antinori. Successivamente venne  acquistato dalla gamiglia Gallenga Stuart e assunse l'attuale nome. Nel 1927 venne ceduto al Comune di Perugia.  L'interno del palazzo presenta ricchi decori tipici del periodo tardo barocco, mentre nell'Aula Magna si può ammirare il dipinto dell'artista futurista perugino Gerardo Dottori "L'apoteosi di Roma". Nella sala detta Goldoniana, nel 1720, Carlo Goldoni mise in scena la sua prima rappresentazione teatrale.

Palazzo Gallenga Stuart is the headquarters of the Italian University for Foreigners of Perugia, founded in 1929 with the aim of spreading Italian culture and language throughout the world. Over the years, it has welcomed students from all over the world.
The palace was built between 1748 and 1758 in Baroque style by the noble Antinori family. It was later purchased by the Gallenga Stuart family and took on its current name. In 1927, it was sold to the Municipality of Perugia. The palace's interior features rich decorations typical of the late Baroque period, while in the Aula Magna, you can admire the painting "The Apotheosis of Rome" by the Perugian futurist artist Gerardo Dottori. In the so-called Goldoniana room, Carlo Goldoni staged his first theatrical performance in 1720.
