Chiesa di San Fortunato

Attestata  nel 1163, mostra  resti della fase medievale nella facciata  con tetto a doppio spiovente e campanile a vela. I restauri post-sisma del 1997 hanno portato alla luce nell'abside affreschi databili tra XIII e XIV sec.

Nel 1634 fu ricostruita a seguito dell’insediamento dei  Padri Silvestrini provenienti da S. Maria Nuova; attualmente ha un portale ad arco a tutto sesto sormontato da un rosone e una bifora in cotto.

L'interno ad unica navata è decorato da altari in legno dorato del XVII sec., con statue di gusto francese di Leonard Chailleau (italianizzato in Leonardo Scaglia), artista francese attivo a Roma e nelle Marche. In fondo al coro è un dipinto del manierista Silla Piccinini (detto anche Scilla Pecennini) del 1585, raffigurante la Madonna con San Fortunato e San Giorgio.

Nel 2017 dopo lunghi lavori di restauro è stata riaperta al culto e come spazio polivalente per attività culturali.

Church of San Fortunato
Documented since 1163, it retains medieval elements in its double‑pitched roof façade and bell-gable. Restoration after the 1997 earthquake revealed 13th–14th century frescoes in the apse. In 1634 it was rebuilt following the arrival of the Silvestrine Fathers from Santa Maria Nuova. Today it features a round-arched portal topped by a rose window and a brick bifora. Inside, the single nave is decorated with 17th-century gilded wooden altars, and statues in a French style by Leonard Chailleau (Italianized as Leonardo Scaglia), a French artist active in Rome and the Marche. At the back of the choir is a 1585 Mannerist painting by Silla Piccinini (also called Scilla Pecennini), depicting the Madonna with Saints Fortunato and George. In 2017, after extensive restoration, the building reopened for worship and as a multipurpose space for cultural events.
